Ice Code Games has announced a new tactical title with an extraction element. Nightmare Frontier can best be described as a blend of X-COM and Hunt Showdown, set in an alternate version of America during the 19th century.
Players will control brave individuals fighting against creatures called Dreadweavers who have managed to enter the world through portals from another dimension. The gameplay will be a mix of turn-based tactics and action, and after each battle, players will collect items they need to escape. The graphics will be in a cel-shaded style, and the view will be isometric.
Nightmare Frontier is in development for PC with no release date.
