The team at Krufs Productions has announced a new retro survival-horror title Heavy Metal Death Can. As they say, they were inspired by 90s horror games, specifically the first three Resident Evils.

This game combines gameplay that was popular at the time (tank controls, fixed camera), but it will also have the option of modern controls for those who prefer that style of play. The story is set in an alternative universe of the 1970s where players will explore a Swedish army submarine.

It is occupied by strange organisms called Sludge that have besieged the crew and turned them into zombies, and it is up to the players to discover how this phenomenon occurred. "As you sneak through the dark, echoing corridors haunted by the sounds of your footsteps, you must find survivors and uncover clues to discover why your workplace is now a death can."

Heavy Metal Death Can is set to release next year for PC, and you can already add it to your wishlist.
