The South Korean publisher Krafton used Gamescom 2025 for a major presentation of three different titles: a brand new expansion for the popular life simulation inZOI, the tactical shooter PUBG: Blindspot, and a new upgrade for its hit PUBG: Battlegrounds. Visitors were able to try out demo versions, participate in interactive activities in themed zones, and exclusively see trailers and announcements of upcoming content.
Below, we provide an overview of what Krafton presented, along with key details.
inZOI – life simulation with the tropical DLC Cahaya
inZOI is an ambitious life simulation where players take on the role of creators of their own world and follow the lives of their characters (the so-called “Zoi”) through various stories and events.
During Gamescom, the first free DLC titled Island Getaway – Cahaya was announced, introducing a completely new tropical map inspired by Southeast Asia. Cahaya brings two islands – the main one focusing on self-sustainability (farms, markets) and a neighboring resort island for relaxation and recreation.
Players now have access to activities such as growing food, fishing, relaxing at the spa resort, exploring temples, and even unpredictable events like tropical storms. “Through the Cahaya map, we wanted to provide players with a space for farming, relaxation, and exploration – a true escape,” said Hyungjun “Kjun” Kim, director of the inZOI studio, highlighting the commitment to further upgrades for this game similar to The Sims. The Island Getaway DLC was launched during the fair and is free for all game owners – available immediately on Steam, with a simultaneous release of the Mac version of inZOI.
As a reminder, inZOI was released in Early Access in March and surpassed one million copies sold in its first week, confirming that there is a huge audience eager for this kind of experience. At Gamescom, fans were able to try out the Cahaya demo on-site and participate in special challenges to win exclusive in-game items and souvenirs. Additionally, during the Opening Night Live ceremony, the official trailer was shown, giving the audience a first look at the tropical paradise of Cahaya.
PUBG: Blindspot – new tactical shooter from a top-down perspective
Krafton's second major asset is PUBG: Blindspot, a completely new 5v5 team shooter from an isometric “top-down” perspective. The game brings realistic and fast-paced action inspired by the PUBG universe, but from a completely new angle – from above, which adds tactical depth never before seen in this franchise.
“Our goal is to convey the excitement of tactical combat to players everywhere,” emphasized Seungmyeong Yang, production director for PUBG: Blindspot, explaining the vision of merging classic PUBG mechanics with a perspective reminiscent of tactical strategy games. Blindspot introduces special mechanics such as field of view control and real-time sharing of views with teammates, emphasizing team coordination and hidden outsmarting of opponents.
The game is still in development, so the final release date has not been announced, but Krafton took advantage of Gamescom for the European premiere: visitors could play a demo version, and at the same time, a trial demo was launched on Steam, available to all players until September 2, 2025.
A new cinematic trailer was also presented exclusively for the Gamescom audience, revealing the atmosphere and action of Blindspot. PUBG: Blindspot will be released on PC (Steam), and interested players can already add the game to their wishlist and join the official community Discord channel.
Judging by the first impressions, Blindspot has the potential to attract competitive players – precisely because of the fast tactics and team outsmarting in smaller scale conflicts.
PUBG: Battlegrounds – a classic battle royale with new content
Krafton has not forgotten its globally popular title PUBG: Battlegrounds, the pioneer of the battle royale genre where a hundred players drop onto the battlefield and fight until only one survivor remains. The game has been available on PC and consoles for years, and at Gamescom 2025, it received its special PUBG zone full of activities for fans. Visitors could participate in a photo booth with game-themed motifs, a shooting range, a “loot” hunt for items, and a 1v1 arena – successfully completing all activities was rewarded with special PUBG gifts.
Additionally, Krafton organized a large fan event “PUBG Hot Drop: Cologne 2025,” where live matches, developer talks, and interactive fun games for the community were held.
As for the news in the game itself, PUBG continues to receive regular updates. The latest patch (Update 37.1) has just been launched on PC and will soon arrive on consoles, bringing a spectacular collaboration with the supercar manufacturer Bugatti (exclusive skins of the legendary Chiron model), an expanded Creator mode for creating your own content, and the return of the beloved retro mini-mode POBG with a new pixelated map. With these moves, Krafton aims to keep PUBG fresh and interesting and ensure that long-time players, as well as new fans, always have a new reason to return to the battlefield.
Gamescom 2025 showed how Krafton is simultaneously expanding its portfolio in various directions – from relaxed life simulation to intense team shooting and enhancements to the existing battle royale game. With the introduction of inZOI and PUBG: Blindspot, the company is entering new genres while maintaining the momentum of PUBG: Battlegrounds through fresh content and active community engagement. Judging by the reactions in Cologne, players have plenty of reasons to be excited. The inZOI: Island Getaway DLC already offers a new world to explore, PUBG: Blindspot promises innovative action from a new perspective (which we will have to wait for its full release), and PUBG: Battlegrounds continues to reign over the battle royale scene with continuous updates. With official websites and trailers available online for all three games, fans can continue to follow the development of these titles and prepare for what’s next in the coming months. Krafton made it clear at Gamescom 2025 that it plans to keep players' attention with diverse content – whether you’re looking for a creative simulation, an intense shooter, or proven survival adrenaline, Krafton has something new for you.
