Zynga has announced that its multiplayer title Star Wars Hunters will be shut down on October 1. This is a big surprise as the game is only nine months old and was also supposed to have its PC version. Star Wars Hunters was released on June 4 for Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android.

The game's story was set between the sixth and seventh episodes of the well-known film series. Upon release, it received mixed reviews from critics, and the Switch version had a score of 57 on Metacritic. It seems that Zynga's expectations were not met, leading to this decision. Before the shutdown on April 15, there will be a final update with new content.

"Thank you for your support and for being part of planet Vespaara. After careful consideration, we want to inform players that the final update will come on April 15 for all platforms. The servers will remain active until October 1 when the game will be shut down," said Zynga.

"We know that this news has upset many, and we want to say that this decision was not made lightly. Your passion and dedication to the game and community meant a lot to us, and we will provide transparency and updates throughout this process." All players who purchased Arena Pass and crystals will not get their new ones back, but the team says they will have enough time to finish everything by the end.
