Players were finally able to play Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. yesterday, but unfortunately many were unable to log in. Those who were lucky enough to get in say that the game has long loading times that stop at 97%, and many did not find any aircraft in their fleet.
On this occasion, the team behind the game made a new video in which they apologized to the players and explained the whole situation. Game producer Jorg Neumann and head of Asobo Studio Sebastian Wloch appeared in it.
"Although this is an excellent release day, we know that many are frustrated. We are very sorry and want to apologize. We made this video because we are always here for the players and want to be as transparent and honest as we can. We have some issues today, but the team is already working on them and will continue to do so in the future," said Neumann.
According to Wloch, the problems arose due to servers that could not support such a large number of players at once. "At the very beginning, players request data from the server, which is later stored in a database. This is a large database and there is a cache, which is currently overloaded. This cache was tested multiple times during the alpha phase on a sample of 200,000 players and simply broke tonight."
"We tried to restart our services and took limiting measures to allow a certain number of people into the game more easily. It worked as it should for a while, and then we increased the queue size to 5X, which worked for maybe half an hour and then the cache started crashing again."
"That’s why we are restarting, investigating, and doing our best and fastest to ensure that everyone can get in." An announcement later appeared on the official page stating that the issues were resolved and that players could now enter the game normally.
"We have resolved the issue and are introducing players at a slow pace. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience."
