On Halloween night, we checked what local gaming portals think about two remakes of iconic horror games!
HCL (Silent Hill 2)
Silent Hill 2 has improved and enriched the experience of the original classic while remaining true to the story that made it famous. Despite some questionable changes, the remake has not gone in the wrong direction.
HCL (Until Dawn)

Still a very good horror adventure, but this remake is a missed opportunity and, worse than that, in some segments even a step backward.
TEHIX (Until Dawn)

At the end of the day, I think the Until Dawn remake from 2024 is a great example of how not all older games need a remake or remaster. The game is visually much better, but old animations, a worse camera, and slow movement are still present. When you add it all up, nothing here is worth your 70 euros.
GoodGame.hr (Silent Hill 2)

If you want a completely authentic experience of the original, this is not the game for you. It would be better to set up the original on PS2 or PC, but if for some reason you are afraid of old games, then this is an alternative for you. It is less subtle, it is too long and has too much focus on combat, but the story and characters are still timeless, so hats off to Bloober for managing to bring them into a modern guise for everyone.
