WheelMates, R/C Car Co-Op Adventure

WheelMates, a co-op adventure where two players steer tiny RC cars through an eccentric scientist's house, developed by FireVolt, is revving its engines and set for a 2026 release on Steam for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The first test of the game will be in February on Steam.

A strange house owned by an even stranger professor is waiting for someone to discover its secrets... and where its owner really is. The only way to get through the building is to pilot a pair of RC cars that must be coordinated in order to progress and solve the mystery.

WheelMates focuses on collaboration, not competition — no timers and no pressure to go fast. The experience is based on solving problems together at your own pace, while uncovering surprises and secrets, including online and split-screen co-op.

These little cars can use powerful experimental equipment to make their way through the household. Jump boosters allow them to reach greater heights and jump over obstacles. With the help of a gripper, they can reach distant points. Magnetic wheels allow them to stick to metal surfaces and manipulate objects at a distance.

Each room in WheelMates offers a compact play space, filled with hidden paths, mechanical puzzles and story details waiting to be discovered. From the narrow corridors to the tall furniture, the house gradually reveals itself. Inspired by the Metroidvania games, travel back through the castle discovering previously inaccessible locations and previously unsolvable puzzles.

With roots in classic RC games like Revolt and puzzle-platformer experiences, the team wanted to bring a new type of cooperative adventure with WheelMates, where RC cars become the heroes of the game. RC car control mechanics, fun driving through home environments and tons of power-ups open up many possibilities for our fresh take on the beloved genre.

To give players an early hands-on look at this co-op experience, the team is planning the first developer-led testing shortly after the announcement.

WheelMates is being developed for Steam for PC and PlayStation 5, aiming for a 2026 release, with details on additional platforms to be announced at a later date.
