Ratata Arts and TVT Co. have officially announced that their new rhythmic roguelite action title Rattan to be published July 16 za Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The release date was revealed during the Nintendo Indie World Showcase presentation, where the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game was shown for the first time.
Ratatan is a colorful rhythmic action game that combines elements roguelite adventure, musical rhythm and tactical battles. Players lead their own army of cute creatures called Cobun, who command in battle following the rhythm of the music. The goal is to march through the ever-changing world of Redo and defeat the enemies that come your way, all of which can be played solo or in multiplayer.
The project first attracted a lot of attention in 2023 when it was launched Kickstarter campaign which collected more than $1.4 million supported by over 14,000 players.
The game is in September 2025 arrived in Steam Early Access, where already in the first month it was sold in more than 100,000 copies. The development team, which also includes former members of Sony Japan Studio, led by a designer Hiroyuki Kotani, has been regularly releasing free updates and additional content ever since.
Ratatan is often described as the spiritual successor to the iconic PlayStation Portable game Patapon, known for its unique combination of strategy and rhythm. With its upcoming release on consoles, Ratatan enters a new phase of development and will try to win over fans of music and indie action games around the world
