Publisher SIXMOREVODKA and developer Demagog Studio have announced Orken, an action RPG themed around the “Orc vs. Human” conflict, coming to PC via Steam. Although the exact release date has not yet been announced, it has been confirmed that the demo will be available on February 26th.
Orken has been described as a “Neanderthal Western” — a down-to-earth interpretation of the classic clash of races with a strong focus on narrative and atmosphere. The game combines a guided story inspired Mass Effect with a tactical, demanding combat system that draws influences from Dark Souls, with a bold and graphically striking style reminiscent of Hi-Fi RUSH.
The world and visual identity come from SIXMOREVODK, while Demagog Studio is in charge of gameplay systems and combat design. Despite Orken being part of a larger fictional universal mythology created by Marko Đurđević, the project is designed to stand as a standalone experience for players.
The game's plot puts the player in the role of a young orc Coltec who embarks on a perilous search for his missing friend, uncovering dark threats to his homeland of Ed along the way. Combat involves careful management of your stamina bar, dodging attacks and special abilities, while dialogue decisions affect the flow of the story.
