While we eagerly await the new Mario movie, Nintendo has prepared another treat for all of us Mario lovers.
Let's face it, tennis is nothing new in the Mario world. It started way back in 1995 on the unforgettable (but not good) Virtual boy, which was re-released just these days. However, Mario Tennis as we know it today launched in 2000 on the N64, and has appeared on every Nintendo console since. The Wii introduced motion controls, and thus allowed us to hit a few balls and play a cup match, even if it was only in the living room.
But okay, enough history, we're here to see what Nintendo's latest hit has to offer. Its predecessor, Mario Tennis Aces on Switch, is a highly praised and happily played title, both by young people and by older people during family gatherings, so it was very interesting to see if and how Nintendo can surpass itself.
The biggest news is the Fever rackets, which dominated the announcements and trailers and we were all really curious how it would actually work in reality. I have to say, this is superbly executed and I can't bring myself to play any of the older titles anymore, because I just feel like I'm missing something. And he really misses it. Fever rackets, 30 of them to be exact. Each with their own special moves, so you'll cover your opponent's shelf with banana peels, set up fire traps or block their view of the field with ink stains. Perhaps my favorite is when you temporarily create a doppelgänger of your own that helps you by catching shots that you would otherwise miss. It's a lot of fun to try out different combinations and it doesn't feel like there's a particular racket that everyone will pick because it's stronger than others. It's disappointing that you can't randomize which racket you want, as that would add an extra note to an already exciting contest. I hope for some patch or update.

And now a little about mods:
Adventure
The story goes like this: Princess Daisy fell ill, so Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Wario and Waluigi set out on a journey to find a golden apple to cure her. Of course, Wario and Waluigi have some plans of their own that, as always, go awry, and our merry crew is turned into babies. And there you go on an adventure. At the tennis academy, through various mini-games, quizzes and matches with other characters from the Mario world, you will learn how to throw different shots, how to use the abilities of the Fever racket, and gain experience and strength to return to the mysterious island and undo the spell.
The mode is single-player only and, apart from minor detours to play a few exhibition matches, everything else is linear and fairly light. And too short, because it will take you a little more than 3 hours to finish the story.
It works more like a tutorial than an adventure.

Tournament
This is a classic, you play according to the cup system, through three different tournaments. Nothing spectacular, you'll go through this to unlock extra characters, and probably never run again.
Trial Towers
This is a set of matches that you must win to reach the top of the tower. In each match, you have predefined challenges waiting for you in the matches: for example, somewhere you will be able to use Fever shots all the time, and somewhere you will play in the middle of a storm. It's up to you to figure out how to turn it to your advantage.
Mix It Up
Here you have a choice of different modes that are primarily intended for social play, such as collecting points by hitting balls through rings, or when you are playing pinball and at one point three balls enter the game and you frantically wave to collect as many points as possible.

Swing fashion
Unfortunately, this is the only mode where you can use motion controls, the most fun part of Mario Tennis since it was introduced on the Wii. Also, you only have 6 Fever rackets at your disposal, so you'll get bored of that quickly, and you'll switch to what Mario Tennis is for, which is
Multiplayer
Here, Nintendo allows you to Ranked Match you try out with players from all over the world and try to progress to the top of the leaderboard, which is reset every month.
U Online Room možete odigrati sasvim casual, ali i dalje vrlo kompetitivan meč protiv prijatelja ili stranca, a dobra je stvar da dva igrača sa jednog uređaja mogu zajednički igrati protiv nekog u igri parova.
Local Play allows you to play against a friend on another Switch 2 device, while GameShare allows you to play against someone who does not have this game but has a normal Nintendo Switch.

In the game, you will find yourself on many realistic and not so realistic terrains, to name just a few: The deck of a flying ship, a jungle terrain where ball-eating plants grow (no, I wasn't wrong), an ice terrain, a mushroom bed, and on each of them the ball bounces differently and you need to know how to control it.

Tipke i motion kontrole reagiraju savršeno, pa ukoliko želite okriviti kontrolere za vaše loše poteze i poraze, ovdje vam to neće nitko povjerovati 😀
The game is beautifully made, the characters are detailed, the effects are great and I didn't notice a drop in performance even with 4 players with different Fever rackets.
The sound effects are loud and varied enough, but the game is so fast that you won't even notice them. A talking flower that comments on every move will be tiring for some, but it was really fun for me.
Advantages:
– savršena arkadna verzija tenisa
– Fever reketi, kombinacija likova i reketa je nebrojena
– vrlo šareno, zabavno, zarazno
– puno modova igre
– besprijekorne kontrole
– MULTIPLAYER
Disadvantages:
– kratki Adventure mode
– motion kontrole ograničene na jedan mod igre
– nemogućnost nasumičnog odabira Fever reketa
To conclude, this is a beautiful and extremely addictive game. Countless combinations of characters and rackets give the game a deeper dimension, and the multiplayer in itself will provide you with hours and hours of crazy fun. Whether it's online when you're watching how you're progressing (or regressing) on the global scale, or at your little cousin's for communion.
Mislim, tko će odoljeti kada na nekom druženju kažete: “Ajmo odigrati Mario Tennis u parovima!”
UKUPNA OCJENA 3.5/5

I’m all about traveling and Nintendo, not necessarily in that order.
