During the presentation State of Play, the company Crafton has officially unveiled Project Windless, a new premium open-world action RPG currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. Krafton Montréal Studio is working on the project in collaboration with teams from South Korea.
The game is set in the world of fantasy novels The Bird That Drinks Tears author Youngdo Lee, but the action takes place about 1,500 years before the events of the books, in the era when the legends were just being created. Players assume the role of Hero King, a powerful warrior of the Rekon race, humanoid bird creatures known for their strength and warrior nature, and shape the future of the world through decisions and alliances. Project Windless brings a non-linear story, real-time combat and mass battles with thousands of soldiers thanks to the special "Mass Technology", while the entire game is developed in Unreal Engine 5. The title is conceived as a pure single-player experience without multiplayer elements, and the release date will be announced later.
