The official account of The White House has once again sparked a huge debate on social media after posting a video that uses scenes from popular video games to promote the US military operation against Iran.
One of the posts used the famous quote of the character Carl 'CJ' Johnson from the game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas "Ah s**t, here we go again". This scene is followed by shots of explosions and attacks with the message "Wasted", known from the game, while the name of the operation "Operation Epic Fury" appears on the screen. Other posts also used footage from the game Call of Duty, mixed with actual footage of military strikes. The videos quickly went viral and sparked mixed reactions online. This is not the first time that the US administration has used references from video games in political messages. In October 2025, Donald Trump was depicted as Master Chief from the Halo series, while US agencies have previously used elements from the Pokémon franchise in political announcements. The Pokémon Company said at the time that it had not given permission for its intellectual property to be used in those messages. Despite this, similar posts continue to appear, which continues to provoke numerous discussions about the use of gaming content in political propaganda.
