Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition dobit će novo poglavlje Chronicles sage. Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition – Chronicles: Alexander the Great u igru će dovesti najpoznatijeg makedonskog kralja u povijesti te će nas staviti u priču od njegove mladosti pa sve do postanka jednog od najmoćnijih vladara.
Ovaj dodatak sadržavat će 18 scenarija (16 s Aleksandrom te dva s Tračanima i Puru civilizacijama). Osim u priči s Makednocima, Tračanima i Puru zaigrat ćemo i u ostalim modovima. Tim je također, i skladao trinaest novih glazbenih podloga.
