Radical Games the team that created gaming classics such as: Simpsons Hit & Run, Prototype, Hulk Ultimate Destruction and more again opened under the name New Radical Games.
The team describes itself on the site as a date Radical Entertainment + Hothead Games which means it is new successor company both turned off. Radical was founded in 1991 in Vancouver and it is 2005 bought by Vivendi Games, and after that Activision in 2008. At the end in 2013 closed their premises, but their only name remained, and by decision Canadian government team members are assigned to help work on others Activision projects.
Hothead Games was also a Vancouver studio best known for Penny Arcade Adventures and DeathSpank before moving on to mobile games. They failed at the end of 2024.
It looks like the sun is shining again for both teams, because they will be in the lead New Radical Games to be Ian Wilkinson as boss and Tim Bennison as deputy. Wilkinson was one of co-founder of Radical Entertainment, after Vivendi purchases he left in 2008 and was the president of Hothead Games for the next 16 years.
Benison was also deputy head of the Capcom Vancouver studio. According to his LinkedIn profile it says that in New Radical Games arrived at December 2024. when it went out Hothead Games, which is a little strange considering that the site has only just become available.
New Radical Games announced on the web that it is looking for employees to develop titles for consoles and mobile devices, but they say that they are also open to collaborations with other studios or making remasters and ports of existing titles. The opening of this studio caused a real mania on social networks, and everyone is hoping for remakes or remasters The Simpsons and Prototype.
