Studio Housemarque has released new details about the upcoming action game Saros, which will be released on April 30, 2026 for PlayStation 5. The gameplay shown focuses on the "come back stronger" system, the escalation of Eclipse mechanics, and the deep customization of armor according to the play style.
Central to the game is the Passage, a temple on Carcosa that serves as a hub where players upgrade abilities using resources collected throughout the cycle. Through the Armor Matrix system, it is possible to increase durability, shield capacity or resource gathering speed, and as you progress, you unlock additional options such as the "Second Chance" mechanic. Fast travel between biomes is also confirmed, along with the retention of found weapons upon death. Special emphasis is placed on Carcosan modifiers that allow adjustment of the difficulty, from easing the fight to more extreme challenges. The Eclipse system further changes the world, enemies and music. The Digital Deluxe edition brings 48 hours of early access and cosmetic items inspired by Returnal, God of War and Ghost of Yōtei from the PlayStation Studios catalog. The development team is announcing more information ahead of release, including details on PS5 Pro improvements and game technology.
