Nintendo DS game Cory in the House she experienced an unexpected return to the public, thanks to an internet joke that got a little out of control. The game was at one time behind the hit Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 on Metacritic's best games chart with a user rating of 9.4. However, the rating dropped to 9.3, which dropped the game to 5th place. A lot of ads have appeared on eBay with prices ranging from fifty dollars to the absurd amounts of several hundred and even up to a thousand dollars. The game was originally released in 2008 and is based on the Disney series Cory in the House. In the game, players take on the role of Cory Baxter, the son of the White House chef, who must stop an evil toy manufacturer and his plan to hypnotize the citizens of Washington using presidential figurines. Cory in the House was almost unanimously criticized at the time of its release. However, years later, the Internet embraced it as an ironic "masterpiece". Whether someone will really pay those enormous sums for that game and how far this joke will go remains to be seen.
